James was born August 29, 1937 to the late Raymond and Adelaide Yeadon in Chicago, Illinois.
He attended elementary school at St. Peter's Lutheran in North Judson, Indiana. He went on to finish high school and became a newspaper pressman in La Porte, Indiana. James served in this capacity at The Herald Argus, Union Recorder, and Press Journal. He also served with the La Porte Lake Patrol and Sheriff's Department. He eventually became a maintenance supervisor at Lakewood Christian Manor in Atlanta, Georgia where he retired.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Richard Yeadon. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 65 years, Mrs. Elaine Yeadon; one daughter, Joy; two sons Randy and Richard (Patti); eight grandchildren, Christopher, Jacki, Nick, Christian, Justin, Melissa, Janelle, and Danielle; a great grandchild as well as one great-great grandchild; one brother, Timothy Yeadon (Barbara); many nieces, nephews and extended family. James will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation of family and friends will be held for James on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of his life will occur Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church | 3250 Mount Zion Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281. Rev. Khampheuy Munnicha, officiating.
Serving as pallbearers are Randy Yeadon, Richard Yeadon, Christopher Yeadon, Nick Yeadon, Christian Yeadon, Justin Yeadon, Keith Harvey and Larry Weege.
