Jodena "Jo" Hanes

Jodena “Jo” Hanes, 86, of Stockbridge, passed away at home on Friday, November 1, 2013. She was born in Greensboro, GA. Jodena’s husband, Grover Howell Hanes, preceded her in death and her brother, Bill Pugh; daughter-in law Kathy Hanes. Jodena was a member of First Christian Church in Stockbridge and a member of The Kattie Nip Circle at Bethel Church; she also enjoyed The Energizers Bible Study at Crossroads Christian Church. She was a volunteer, with her husband, for the Meals on Wheels, and at the Methodist Children’s Home in Decatur every Monday for many years.

Jodena had a giving heart and a warm smile. Her son, Ralph Hanes; daughter, Sandy Abdellatif; grandsons, Freddie Teston, Jason Hanes, Josh Hanes, Joseph Latif, Sam Latif; daughter- in law Kathy Stokes; and numerous nieces and nephews survive her.

Funeral services will be in the Chapel of Horis A. Ward-Fairview at 2pm Monday, November 4 with interment at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00pm Monday at the funeral home.
