He is a veteran of WWII in the Navy as an Aviation Ordinanceman. He was a Mason. John loved to garden and grew some very tasty produce which he shared with friends and family. He also liked to fish. When he lived in Stockbridge, he liked to go down to the dock at Swan Lake and “drown a worm”. At retirement he owned B & J Insurance in East Atlanta where he sold automobile insurance.
He is predeceased by his first wife Bonnie Fox, second wife Mary Fox, sister Ruth Bridgeman, brother R.D. Fox and parents John Amon and Sallie Mae Fox.
He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Michael and Rhonda Fox of Jonesboro, 3 granddaughters, Nikki Holcomb (Noah) of Chattanooga TN, Christina Wilson (Zach) of Alameda CA, and Lauren Delasota (Jason) of Kathleen GA. He also had 3 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road Stockbridge, GA 30281. The reverend Travis Bridgeman, nephew, will preside.
