John Edwin Shaver

John was born October 15, 1955 in Daytona Beach, Florida, the son of the late Yancey Lee Shaver and Marilyn Kohn Shaver. He was a loving husband of Susan Patterson Shaver for 45 years. John was of the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Avondale High School, Class of 1973. He went on to attend DeKalb Community College, Middle Georgia State University, Southern Technical Institute, and Middle Georgia State University. He was the founder of Southland Conveying Solutions, a pneumatic conveying systems company. John also was the founder of Southland Industrial Design and Southland Mechanical Services. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and was also a big Georgia Tech fan. John enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his fur babies.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his twin brother Mark (Michelle) Shaver of Alpharetta, GA; sister-in-law- Barbara Herrin; brother-in-law Raymond (Betty) Patterson; fur babies, Lady, Lucy, Lacy, Jazzbo, Tammy, and Autumn; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service for John will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Brushy Knob Baptist Church | 455 Gardner Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281. Visiting hour will be from 11:00AM to 12:00PM with memorial service starting at 12:00PM.
