OBITUARY

Johnnie D. Riley

Johnnie Elizabeth Dobbs Riley was born to the late Howard and Beulah Dobbs on September 1, 1930 in Marietta, Georgia. She grew up in Marietta and later graduated from Marietta High School in 1947.

She married the love of her life, Charles D. Riley, Jr. on October 3, 1948 and from this union two children were born; Kevin and Kelly Riley. Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister; Mae Doris Dobbins Lovinggood and her husband of 63 years; Charles D. Riley Jr.

Johnnie was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia from October 1963 to December 2002 when the membership was disbanded. She served as the church's secretary for 30 years.

She is survived by her children; Kevin (Laurie) Riley of Covington, GA and Kelly (Mike) Miller of McDonough, GA; four grandchildren; Tim (Kara) Riley of Covington, GA, Steve (Samantha) of Deland, FL; Rachel Riley of Ormond Beach, FL and Matt Riley of Covington, GA; one step-grandson; Jim Hinds of Bogue Field, NC; two nieces; Marthalyn (Mott) Hudson of Washington, NC and Myra Mathur of Aurora, OH; two nephews; Louis (Butch) Lovinggood of Powder Springs, GA and Larry Dobbins of Rome, GA.

Her family and friends will forever miss and remember her as a kind, loving, and generous mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Woodlawn Hall, Luther Rice Seminary & University, 3038 Evans Mill Road, Lithonia, GA 30038

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, the funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM. The visitation and the funeral will be held at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home Fairview Chapel 376 Fairview Rd Stockbridge, GA 30281. Entombment will follow the funeral.
