

Born Joycelyn Norrene Simms on October 9, 1940 in Atlanta, GA, she was lovingly raised in a military family and was raised mostly throughout the south, Germany and the Philippians. She lived the majority of her life in Atlanta, GA.
Joycelyn was wonderfully devoted to her two sons, Scott (Kim) and Anthony (Ann O'Connell) as well as grandmother to Grace, Caleb, Josh, Henry, Joel, and Lucy Marmo. Joycelyn is also survived by two sisters, Renia Lott (Charles) and Sally Wallace (Larry) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joycelyn was a graduate of Crawford Long in radiology technology and had a 30 year career at Northside Orthopedics where she was well known and admired by physicians, nurses, and patients.
Joycelyn was a huge sports enthusiast. Other than being a lifelong Georgia Bulldogs fan, she was passionate at watching her children and grandchildren play football, baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming, tennis, track, cross country, wrestling, ballet, and horsemanship.
Joycelyn also enjoyed serving and cooking comfort foods to her family and their friends. She had a selfless gift of serving others and preparing meals for families in need.
A graveside celebration of life will be held for Joycelyn on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
