Juanita Edwards Shaffer, age 89, of Stockbridge, GA died on Saturday, August 29, 2015 after a long illness. Funeral services will be Friday, September 4 at 2:00 pm at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Stockbridge, GA. Interment will follow at the Fairview Memorial Gardens cemetery. Juanita will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Juanita was born in Butternut, Wisconsin on June 17, 1926 and became a teacher there in a one room school. After marrying David Shaffer in 1956 she moved to rural Montana. The family moved back to Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1964, where Juanita then became a substitute teacher. She lived in Stockbridge, GA for 35 years, and was a member of Lord of life Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included square dancing, and making quilts with the Busy Bee quilting group at church. Juanita is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Lyle and Nancy Shaffer of Jonesboro, GA; her daughter, Karla Fritz of Milwaukee, WI; her grandchildren, Ryan Schulze, of Minneapolis, MN; Katie Schulze, of Sheboygan, WI; and Alicia Przygocki, of Alpharetta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband David; and her sister Lela Niebauer.
