Born in Bayshore, New York on June 22, 1984, Kimberly was the beloved firstborn of David and Lisa Kemp, and the radiant light among four siblings.
Raised in an Air Force family, Kimberly experienced a dynamic childhood that took her from New York to the DMV area and then across the Atlantic to Bicester, a quaint town outside of London, England, where she completed her elementary school years. At the age of ten, her family settled in Georgia, where she continued her education at Lilburn Middle School and later graduated from Meadowcreek High School in 2002.
Professionally, Kimberly began her career as a Substitute Teacher for the Gwinnett County School System from 2003 to 2006, followed by serving as an Accounting Clerk at Flowers Food Specialty Group until 2011. Her passion for technology led her to pursue higher education, and she proudly graduated from Westwood College in 2013 with an Associate’s Degree in Information Technology. From 2012 to 2023, Kimberly thrived as an IT Systems Support Analyst, lending her expertise to D & H Technologies, Kemira Chemicals, and Smart Source Inc., always with a spirit of grace and excellence.
Kimberly lived with vibrant energy and a soul that uplifted others. She brought joy to every room, dancing to the rhythm of life with grace and passion. Her love for karaoke with friends and family, her adventurous spirit and love for travel, and the priceless time spent with her three sons—whom she affectionately called her “boys”
Kimberly selflessly offered other words of wisdom, encouragement, advice, and unwavering support. Even as she quietly battled the daily pain of cancer, she placed others first—listening, comforting, and helping those facing life’s challenges with remarkable strength and compassion -– this defined her days.
Kimberly’s greatest love was for her three sons: Cherif Jordan, Jaleel Daniel, and Joseph David Thioye—her heart, her pride, her purpose.
Kimberly is lovingly remembered and survived by her parents, David Earl Kemp I and Lisa Marie Kemp; her siblings, Aminah (Kemp) Reese, David Earl Kemp II, and Enjoli Rose (Kemp) Williams and her brother-in-love Anthony Tobias Reese; her precious nieces and nephews, Saniah Elizabeth Kemp-Isaac, Leilah Marie Reese, Noah Matthias Reese, Nayeli Marie Robinson, Vidalis Cataleah Kemp, Alaia Maribel Tavarez, Aaria Rose Williams, and August Santino Williams; and a wide circle of cousins, extended family, and cherished friends whose lives were illuminated by her spirit.
To know Kimberly was to know her deep love, bold perseverance, and constant acts of kindness. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched, and in every smile sparked by memories of her laughter, wisdom, and song.
Forever remembered. Forever cherished. Forever Kimberly.
