Alan, as he was affectionately called was born in Dekalb County, Georgia to Lewis Augusta Huey and Margaret Gray on March 7, 1936. He was a retired IT professional. Alan met and married Shirlee Ann Sloan and together they loved and cared for each other until her passing in 1997.
Alan's life will forever be honored and cherished by his daughters, Starr Copper (Ike) of Sharpsburg, Georgia and Kim Glaze (Craig) of Eatonton, Georgia; five grandchildren, Justin Glaze (Emily), Austin Glaze, Tori Norys (Ryan), Cody Copper and Chris Copper (Jennifer); three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Jack and Harper; a host of relatives and family friends.
A Gathering of Family & Friends for will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, where the Celebration of Life honoring Lewis Alan Huey will occur at 1:30 PM. The inurnment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
