Lewis Randolph Sheffield Jr, known affectionately as Randy to his friends, and papi to his close family, beloved husband of Cecilia Ceci Sheffield, passed at age 72 on December 31st, 2022, surrounded by family.
Randy was born on August 10th, 1950 to Ovalee Tillison Sheffield and Lewis Randolph Sheffield Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved son John Alfred Joseph Bentley.
Cecilia survives her dear husband of 47 years, along with their loving grandchildren: Kayla Brown (Christian), Mia Bentley (Ezra), Abigail Bentley (Al), Lilith Bentley, Jackson Lindsley, John Patrick Lewis Bentley, Avery Bentley, and Great-grand Child Liam Elliott Joseph Brown and sister in law Lucrecia Sueiras niece Ana Alvarez and her children David and Kelly Martin (Chris) and nephew Michael Sueiras (Teresita) and children Joshua and Matthew.
An avid pursuer of historical knowledge, Randy enthusiastically shared his passions with those around him. His love of the past began as a child, with collecting coins and stamps, and followed him into adulthood as a respected dealer of antiques and collectibles. Randy was a follower of Jesus. He went through a difficult disease that led to his death without once complaining or asking the Lord why, giving testimony of his love and obedience to God.
Family and Friends are invited to gather for Randy's funeral service on Friday, January 6th at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. The ceremony will take place at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, located at 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281, to be followed by a graveside committal at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Drive SW, Atlanta, GA.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Randy's name to the Samaritan's Purse Foundation.
