On August 14, 1987 in Cayes, Haiti, the Lord blessed Anne Marie Emilcy and Ebel Jean-Baptiste (deceased) with Marc Donald Pierre, the first of four children and the only male in the family. He was nicknamed "Bibo," after the Haitian Creole word for baby bottle, which he struggled to give up. Growing up, he was a respectful and caring child who grew up to be a caring man. He was only two years older than his sister and still was like a father-figure to her who watched over her and disciplined her. He departed on November 16, 2019.
Pierre completed his primary school at Henry Christophe and secondary school at College Bird. He was a mature and curious young man who was interested in politics. In May 2008, He left Haiti and immigrated to Decatur, Georgia. There, he met Ruth Dubuisson and was married in April 2010. Together, they had two beautiful daughters, Janessa Pierre and Vanessa Pierre.
Pierre devoted his time and energy to caring for his family, especially his beloved mother until he passed away at the age of 32. Each of his family members have their own individual story highlighting how dependable and reliable he was.
Pierre was an ambitious man who worked hard to achieve his goals. He began his legacy of hard work for Delta Airlines. Afterwards, he worked at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. He proved his diligence and became the Cemetery Superintendent. His co-workers knew him as “Pierre”or “P” and he was a joy to work with. He aspired to retire by the age of 40 and start his own business.
Marc Donald Pierre will be remembered as a very inquisitive and detailed-oriented person. His memory will live on in the hearts of his beloved mother Anne Marie Pierre, his adoptive father Gabriel Pierre, his three sisters Manouchka Pierre, Fabienne Pierre, Titit Jean-Baptiste, and Sherane Pierre, his wife Ruth Dubuisson, his daughters Janessa Pierre and Vanessa Pierre, and a long list of extended family and friends. Pierre’s life would seem too short by too many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, November 23rd from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281, where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Burial will immediately follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
