Margaret Evelyn Freeman Scarbrough, age 94, of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away April 23, at her home. She was born on March 14, 1919 to Monroe and Minnie Freeman of Rosebud Georgia near Centerville. She was retired from LB Price and Mathis Dairy and was a member of Pine Lake Baptist Church. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Dewey Scarbrough, who was killed in world war ll and her daughter Martha Jo Cornwell.
Mrs. Scarbrough is survived by her daughter Margaret June Craig, son in law Robert Craig, son, James D Scarbrough, daughter in law Nancy Scarbrough, and son in law Donald Cornwell, Brother in law, Harry A Scarbrough, Nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care and her personal care givers, Helen Mays, Aisha Bennett, Jameela Bennett and Lloye Gibbs. The family will receive family and friends Friday, April 26, 6-8pm, with a graveside service on Saturday, April 27, at 3:00pm. Robert Craig will officiate, Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel, Stockbridge in charge of arrangements.
