Mary Frances was born January 26, 1931 to her late parents Talmage N. Floyd and Mary Louise Sanders Floyd. She graduated in 1949 from Fulton High School. After graduating, she went to work for William Brothers Lumber Co. and after marriage Mary Frances began her career with Southern Bell, retiring from Company Headquarters Data Processing as Assistant Manager with 30 years of service. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, entertaining and traveling with the Fairview Camping Club, but most of all "helping others." Mary Frances was a long time member of the Dahlia Society of Georgia, serving as Show Clerk Secretary and second female president and the Top of Georgia Airstream Park. Mary Frances was one of the first members of the Fairview Church of Christ at Stockbridge, Georgia, where she enjoyed teaching and doing tasks in and around the buildings.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Wyman Cook Clark; sister, Gloria Floyd Smith (Carlton); nieces, Becky Floyd Shoup (Dennis) of Austell, Georgia, Jane Hammock (Jerry) of McDonough, Georgia and Lynn C. Wilhoit of Milledgeville, Georgia; nephews, Roger E. Floyd, Talmage E. Floyd, Sr. (Gina) of Dalton, Georgia, Horace E. Floyd (Judy) of Cohutta, Georgia, Janan A. Van Fossan (Lisa) of Blountville, Tennessee, Ronnie Turpin (Carolyn) of McDonough, Georgia, Lee M. Clark (Carol) and Tim Clark of Stockbridge, Georgia; 8 great nephews; 8 great nieces; 4 great-grand nephews and 4 great-grand nieces.
Mary Frances wishes to express her love and appreciation to Linda Cooper Barnes (Richard) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Darrell S. Cooper (Barbara) of Stockbridge, Georgia, Sibyl Cooper Sneed (Larry) of Monroe, Georgia and Serenity Iris Willard of Stockbridge, Georgia for the years of happiness they brought into her life as "My Kids." I am so proud of each of you.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Richard E. Floyd; brothers-in-law, J. W. Clark, John Branan, Clyde Turpin and Milton A Clark; sisters-in-law, Mandy Floyd, Bernease Branan, Pauline Turpin, Laura Clark and Betty Clark and 1 great niece, Becky K. Kelley of Monticello, Georgia.
Family will meet with friends on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281 and Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10:00AM-11:00AM.
Funeral Services for Mary Frances Floyd Clark will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel with David Decker and Jerry Whitmire, ministers, officiating. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
At Mary Frances' request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mount Dora Christian Home and Bible School, 301 13th Avenue, Mount Dora, Florida 32757 in memory of Mary Frances Clark.
