Micki was born on May 16, 1949, in Jeffersontown, Kentucky to William Moses Langford and Ella Elizabeth Langford. She married Clayton Ivey over 53 years ago on July 20, 1968. Micki loved her family and friends fiercely and was known to bring that same ferocity to a vicious game of Canasta or dominoes. She also shared her love of cooking by being a host of many well-known feasts. You may've come hungry, but you left with a full belly and a container of leftovers. She enjoyed a good book and watching her favorite shows. Her quick wit and spirit kept others on their toes. You could pick out her laugh in a crowded room.
She worked as a Bank Supervisor for many years but made the decision to stay home to care for her twins, Chad and Shay. Eventually, she decided to open her home as a daycare. Her house was always full of little people and boy did she know how to keep them in line! Once the twins were in middle school, she worked at Morrow High School in the cafeteria. She transitioned from the school cafeteria to church secretary at Rainbow Park Baptist Church until retiring.
This past Sunday, Micki was able to attend church, fellowshipping with her friends and family in the Lord before going home to be with him on Monday.
Micki is preceded in death by her father, William Langford; mother, Ella “Liz” Langford; sister Anne Loveless; brothers William and Louis Langford.
She is survived by her husband, Clay Ivey; her son, Chad Ivey; daughter and son-in-law, Shay and Billy Duncan; her brother, Ronald “Red” Langford; sister, Nancy Cornelius; grandchildren, Gage and Knox Duncan and Cade Ivey; and her many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
