Mary was born on February 24, 1923 in Tennessee. She had a long career with General Motors at the Lakewood Plant.
Mary had no children of her own, but shared her life with the children of others. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their children who have loved her. Her niece Debi Dugger, always thought of Mary as her “other mother” and was blessed with a close relationship. Niece Carla Harmon spent many hours ministering to Mary during her final days and brought great comfort to her.
She is also survived by the daughters of Bob Peebles: Katherine Zeis, Barbara Brasher-Kaplan and Shannon Dyer and their families.
Mt. Carmel Christian Church was Mary’s church home since 1970. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Marlin Lloyd and her second husband, Bob Peebles, and her 13 siblings.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA, where a celebration of a long life fully lived will immediately begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
