Melody Lynne Smith

Melody "Metley" Lynne Vogel Smith of Oxford, Georgia passed away on the evening of October 14, 2021. Melody transitioned into eternal rest after her 7-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family at her home. Melody was 61 years old.

Melody was preceded in death by her parents, William Alfred Vogel and Alma Magdalene Nunn Vogel; her only son, Kenneth James Medford; and two siblings, Anthony Paul Allen and James Roger Vogel.

Melody is survived by her husband, Hoyt Victor Smith; three daughters, Alisa Smith Farr (Christopher Lee), Shannah Smith Lester (Waylon Lee), and Kristina Smith Rivers (Travis Gene); ten grandchildren, Madison Griggs Ruiz, Jaidyn Marie Farr, and Dakota Hope Farr, Starla Ree Hall, Waylon Lee Lester Jr., Layla Elaine Lester, Kenleigh Joyce Hall, Avalynne Mary Hall, Jameson Hoyt Lester, and Kayden Jace Rivers; two siblings, Brenda Kay Vogel Mize and Eric Otto Vogel; and a host of extended family members and friends.

A visitation of family and friends will be held for Melody on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, immediately followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM in Ward's Chapel.
