

Mildred E. (Hardin) Floyd, 90, of Stockbridge, Ga. went home to be with the Lord, on April 15, 2012 at her home. She was born in Rex, Ga to the late J. Roy and Ada Elliott; and predeceased by her three brothers, Hugh, Herman and Roy Elliott, Jr. Previously a long-time resident of Chattanooga, she was also predeceased by her late husband, Rev. Charles Hardin, who she had met in 1941 when he was serving as principal of East Clayton Elementary School. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Forest Park, and also a member of the church's V.I.P. seniors group. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 18 years, Geddes F. Floyd; sons, Ben (Joyce) Hardin of Ringgold Ga, Fred (Terri) Hardin of Cumming; daughters, Barbara Hardin of Stockbridge, Nancy Moreland of Ringgold, stepson Ed Floyd of Newnan; three grandchildren; Rita Beals, Laura Linebarger, and Daniel Hardin; two great grandchildren; nieces, Donna Rogers of Lilburn, and Carole Hager Lady Lake FL.; nephews, James Gary Elliott of Randolph, NJ, and Wesley Elliott of Rex, Ga; also cousin Elizabeth E. Welch of Stone Mtn. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday April 19, 2012 in the Fairview Chapel of Horis A. Ward with her pastor Dr. Reed Crumbliss officiating. Interment in the Fairvew Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday April 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
