I always loved when Harold Jr. stopped by mom and dads on his way to and from Atlanta for the night. He was just so lovable and fun to be around. I’ll never forget riding through Atlanta in the back of his jeep, with Brooke, with the tops off and blasting music. He will most definitely be missed by many. 

Harold...always the optimist. Funny, thoughtful and not afraid to tell you what was on his mind. He took me to my first KISS concert. Right in front of the stage, Eric Clapton for my birthday one year. Ours were easy to remember 11/9 and 1/19.  Smiles and laughter always. I'll miss the random calls and texts. We all will. There's not another one like you. Rest in peace my friend. I'll never forget you. XOXO
Prayers for the Vernon family.

Richard and I just wanted to let you all know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.  We will all miss Harold, Jr.. coming to Bassett.  Thanks for sharing all the pictures.  I have a lot of those from his younger school years in my albums here at home and also  younger family ones, too, when they were all in Virginia.   We will continue to remember you all in the days ahead as you learn to adjust to life without this very important part of your family.

I knew Harold through my sister Denise Taylor.  He would come around alot. He use to come to Ryans and eat and he would sit with me. He was funny and a really likeable guy. I hated hearing this him and my sister were still friends and shes been talking about going to see him. I hate this wont happen. Rest in peace Harold you were a great person.

Harold Jr will be missed.  We send our thoughts & prayers to the family.

I still can’t believe you are gone. When my phone rings I think to myself that’s my brother calling.  I miss you & pray that one day we will meet again. After hearing the eulogy delivered by Darrell Toney at your celebration of life, I pray that I can become the person you were & strive to be a better Christian. Love you!

He was the best reason for us to ever drive thru Forest Park, he would always stop what he was doing and talk to us about what we had going on and have a smile on his face.  He just loved to show off his new "stuff", he made you feel like being a big kid was cool and I thank him for that from the bottom of my heart!  

Often times as I have gotten older, you forget about the magic of childhood and forgot that kind of feeling.  I have often times gone back to my memories of a grown man being so excited about superheroes and it kind if makes me jealous!  We are all better off with those reminders that you don't  have to be so grown up that you have to  forget about that childhood magic.  God bless you for that sir!



It seems our Lord is bringing new life into this world and calling angels home more now than ever. Must be the age I'm at. I did not spend much time with Numa. Doubt he would recognize me today (his children have so many friends no one could keep up with them all). I do know he was one of the dads we all looked up to and respected. 

Harold had this huge laugh & fantastic smile you could never forget.  Our hearts go out to David, Chris & Casey.   We could not have ask for a better friend.  He was a very enthusiastic baseball coach to say the least.  We love you Harold & will miss you.  Prayers for the rest of his family, friends & co-workers. 

I’m thankful for the man he was. I got the experience to hang out with him and find out why his kids were cool. He was always  good hearted and  I  will truly miss him. 

Harold was one of those people that you could count on.  If he said he was going to do something, he always followed through.  I met Harold in 1989 at Shepard in Atlanta where he handled our labor desk.  I missed him when he went to our Baltimore office but he was just a phone call away if I had a question. His expertise will be surely missed, not to mention his booming voice and smile.

To the family:  thank you for sharing all the photos.  You can certainly tell how much he loved and was loved as " Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.” May your memories sustain you.

I like to remember the things you loved about a person during times like these. I’ve known Harold for the better part of 28 yrs. I grew up with David, Chris and Casey. And I’m sure he is laughing at the fact I wrote I grew up. For the last few years he would text or call me randomly to see how me and my family were doing. No big production, just the simple fact he cared. It’s this memory I will always hold close. We miss you buddy.

Harold was  one of those dear life long friends that always stayed in touch even though there were miles in distance and far between.  Every time we talked it was as if no time had passed since the last.  Most conversations we're about the love for his family, old friendships and music.
