Opal Anderson

Opal Virginia Anderson passed away peacefully on March 10, 2017. She was surrounded by her children and family. Opal was born on October 1, 1919 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Wofford T. Cox and the late Zonie Ozella Chitwood Cox.

Opal worked as a beautician at Davison-Paxon for many years, then established a business in her home until retirement in 1999. In retirement, she spent time traveling and enjoying her family.

In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. She is survived by one sister, Geraldine Quine of Cleveland, TN.; her son, Larry Anderson (Denise) of Locust Grove, GA., and daughter, Jody Anderson of Porterdale, GA.; grandchildren, Joe Anderson of Evansville, IN., Eric Bailey of McDonough, GA., Jami Lester of McDonough, GA.; great-grandchildren Jonathan Anderson, Kaleigh Anderson, Caitlyn Lester, Ryan Lester, Parker Lester, and Taylor Lester; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to invite everyone to join them in honoring Opal’s incredible life on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, with burial following at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends the day of service from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
