Pamela Sue Howell

Pamela Sue Howell was born on July 23, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia to Richard Odell Craig and Barbara Joyce Cooper Craig. She attended Jonesboro High School. After high school, she matriculated at Tennessee Temple College and received her Associates Degree in Biblical Studies. She met the love of her life in Gregory Howell. They were married on September 1, 1978 and remained together, loving and supporting each other for over 42 years.

She took pride in taking care of her family. Susie, as she was affectionately called, was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and a loving grandmother. It is an understatement to say she adored her sons. They were the apple of her eye. She enjoyed making candy and loved cooking for everyone.

Susie's time was spent being a dedicated pastor's wife. Their first two years of ministry were spent on the mission field in Nassau, Bahamas. They both taught at Nassau Christian Academy in the Bahamas. They returned home in 1981 and began ministering at Greg's home church, then called Stone Mountain Baptist Tabernacle. There she was a substitute teacher in the Christian school and worked in the church office. Susie also served as church organist and played the piano at Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she also headed up the children's ministries. One of her greatest loves was heading up Vacation Bible School, which she did for 29 years.

You could always hear her singing, humming or playing one of her favorite hymns, "No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus" or "Because He Lives." It was quite evident that she LOVED the Lord, LOVED her family and LOVED her church family.

Pamela Sue Howell transitioned from Earth to Glory on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Her life will forever be honored and cherished by her loving husband, Pastor Gregory Howell; sons, Matthew (Brooke) Howell and Adam Howell; granddaughter, Abigail; brother, Richard (Melinda) Craig; nieces, Christy, Melissa and Kelly; the members of Pine Grove Baptist Church; a host of other relatives and family friends.

A visitation for Susie will be held Monday, November 30, 2020 from 4:00PM-7:00PM and Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 1:00PM-2:00PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.

The Celebration of Life for Pamela Sue Howell will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 2:00PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. Due to limited seating the service will be STREAMED LIVE at https://www.facebook.com/HAWFairview.

Burial will immediately follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
