Patti Elaine Couch Cardinal peacefully passed away on March 18, 2020, surrounded by love.

Patti Cardinal was born in Decatur, Georgia on June 7, 1954 to George Emerson Couch and Bettie Walters Couch. Patti was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ. She retired from the field of customer service. She met and married the love of her life, Agusto Cardinal.

She loved her family. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her dog, "Lucy." Her pride and joy were her girls and grandchildren.

Prior to her transition from Earth, Patti had a vision of seeing her mother. She kept in her spirt the words to the sweet hymn, "Precious Lord, Take My." The words simply say, "Precious Lord, take my hand. Lead me on, let me stand. I am tired, I am weak and I am worn. Through the storm, through the night, lead me on to the light. Take my hand, Precious Lord and lead me home." We are confident that we she transitioned from Earth to Glory she was met at the Pearly Gates by her parents, holding the hands of Jesus.

Patti's life will forever be remembered and cherished by her loving husband, Agusto Cardinal; daughters, Oliva Cardinal-Palecpec (Jestoni) and Jamie Cardinal-Contreras (Jesus); grandchildren, Christian A. Cardinal, Jazmin Contreras and Josue' Contreras; cousins, Cheryl Jane Cunieo and Tina Gandy Clark; best friends, Scott Mozley and Dolores Lane; a host of other relatives and family friends.

My name is Jamie Lind. I was Jamie and Jesus neighbor for 10 years. Mrs. Patti and Jamie had invited us to Patti's house a long time ago for dinner. She welcomed us with open arms in her home. We had a great time laughing and just hanging out. She was always a sweet lady to us and we pray for her whole family during this time.

I worked with Patti for almost 2 years and she was the sweetest woman. She had a fire about her, she protected her own and she always did the right thing. I don’t think she ever let me call her Patti, even for me - it was Mama. I’ll miss her sweet messages, her jokes and her spirit. I’m lucky I got to cross paths with even it was for just a short period. I’m thinking of Oliva, Jamie and the rest of the family - be strong!

I had the pleasure of meeting my Aunt for the first time a few years ago. She came to NC just to meet us and spent the night; when I awoke she had made her famous biscuits for my family. I will never forget the love and kindness that she has shown me and the love and bond for her children is all I strive to ever want to have in my life. Thank you Aunt Patti for being an example when I had none, may you rest in paradise.💕

To the entire family, I am so very sorry for your loss and will be praying hard for peace and comfort. From the first time I met your mom, she treated me like I was family. Always welcomed me with kindness and loved to cook any time she had the opportunity!! And it was ALWAYS delicious! Love and hugs to you all. She was so very proud of both Oliva and Jamie and of course her grandchildren, her entire family and extended family. There is no doubt that she is watching down on you all 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I done have many memories with Mrs. Patti. But the few times I did meet her she was always in a happy welcoming mood. She seemed to have a warm comforting feeling about her. I know she loved her family dearly, anyone could see that. Rest in peace Mrs. Patti.

I was friends with her husband Augusto when he worked at the grocery store in Winder, I worked next door. I had the pleasure to meet his lovely wife and Girls ( Olivia and Jamie)One day while having lunch with my nephew. From the very minute I started talking with her and her girls I felt a special bond with them. Although I didn’t know her for very long I felt like part of the family. My only regret is not being able to have known her longer.
She had such a kind heart and instilled that in her kids. I will miss you Patti but this isn’t goodbye.... it’s Until I see you again when it’s gods time to bring me home.

What to say about someone who has been with you through every significant event in your life since you were 12 years old? She was exactly who her parents raised her to be. When she liked you, she would do anything for you. When she loved you, she loved unconditionally and with her whole heart. And when she didn’t like you, she had NO use for you, and you KNEW it! She was as much a sister to me as a friend. Many of the memories I have, I think she would prefer not be shared with others, and in keeping with her trust, they shall remain between she and I. She will live forever in my heart and memories.

Patti is a kind, loving, and selfless person. I remember your parents coming to visit us in Savannah when we were children. I remember in the early 90s when Erwin and I had Thanksgiving with you and your family. I remember your parents opening their home to us when we evacuated from a hurricane in 1999. I remember being at our parents 25th Anniversary Vow Renewal. I was honored to be asked to attend and emcee the reception. She was always kind to my mother and she was a fabulous cook! Even though our families rarely saw each other, she was always willing to help if we needed it. She was Angel on Earth. God Bless you Patti. May God's perpetual light shine upon you and may you rest eternally in peace and joy in heaven.

I only met Ms. Patti once or twice in person but she was such a sweet woman and you could tell that she had a genuine heart for those around her. On Facebook it was easy to see how much she loved her family. They were everything to her. She raised two amazing daughters who also have genuine hearts for people and I know will continue to make her proud.
