I worked with Raynard at the juvenile court for almost 5 years. In that time I don't think he ever missed a day of smiling or greeting me and others. He was a kind man that loved his family, friends, and football...thats all he talked about. May he rest in peace and may his family be comforted.

The last University of Louisville photo I have of you is on my balcony grilling pork chops in 1989. We saw each other more during U of L tailgates in the past ten years. You were always the sweetest guy. When you laughed, something was VERY funny.

I kissed you on your cheek at one of the tailgates because you were asleep when I got there. You got sick that day and went to the emergency room, and I was so scared you wouldn’t come back. The fellas kept me strong. When you came back later that day, I was so happy! They made you eat a big plate of food to keep you strong.

I miss you now and will miss you at the tailgates. I will eat a pork chop in your honor at every one! Hahaha

Love you, Raynard! May your soul be free and happy with the Lord!

My favorite memory of Raynard is when every time he see me he always call me by my nick name that he gave me. Thank you for showing me and my family love back in Louisville. I’m going to miss you and that smile of yours. I love you Raynard.

Thank you very much for your friendship brother. You were a funny man. Those days walking home after school in Miami were hilarious. I did not know you long coming from NY but it seems we knew each other forever. Sleep easy my brother and I will see you on the other side. Gone too soon.

Words cannot express the hurt I felt when I learned of my friend Raynard’s passing. Ray was a great teammate, friend and “brother” who we all are gonna miss dearly. I’ll remember all the good times we shared: 4th floor Miller Hall, Bigelow Hall dances, late night Expressway Liquor runs with the “crew”just to name a few. And more recent the UofL spring football games, regular season games and our trips to the BrickHouse Tavern. Ray and “Air” would roll into town and we would all have a great time ,reminiscing and just hanging out .
I remember our last text which was on Fathers Day, and I sent him a picture of my dinner from the BrickHouse ( pork chops) and we all know his fondness for those “poke chops”. He replied how good and thick they looked.... we all know he loved and cherished his food.
You are truly gonna be missed my friend. May God bless your family and comfort them during these most difficult times.
You are going to be missed.
Love you my brother
Jr
