Renette Louis-Jeune was born in Jacmel, Haiti on September 27, 1958 to Leonie Seneus and Faliere Louis-Jeune. She moved to the United States in the 70’s where she resided in New York City and met the father of her three children, Enold Dumont and was married for 17 years. They remained friends until her passing. Renette was such a beauty queen, that she opted for a career in cosmetology, but decided she preferred to be pampered rather than doing the pampering. Shortly after, she had a change of heart and pivoted to a career in healthcare and remained in that industry for over 20 years. She was a nurturing person and enjoyed taking care of her patients. Renette was passionate about learning and education and was happy to share her knowledge and experience to help others gain insight prior to making important decisions. She always had an open ear to listen and share comforting words of wisdom.
Renette was a social butterfly, and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. As a dedicated mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and daughter, she enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren. They were her pride and joy in life. She loved them to the end of the world and was their protector; now their guardian angel. She enjoyed music, dancing and telling colorful jokes. Also, Renette was an amazing cook who brought people together in many ways. There was never a dull moment with her. She was very spontaneous and outgoing. Her most mentionable asset was her kind and generous heart that she shared with her family, friends, and strangers. Like her mother, she never forgot about her family and friends that remained in Haiti. She would send them care packages, and funding to let them know they weren’t forgotten. Lastly she enjoyed shopping and couldn’t resist buying figurines or jewelry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonie Seneus and Faliere Louis-Jeune. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Daphney Dumont, Stephanie Dumont and Jennifer Dumont; nine grandchildren, Ashanti Trinity Archer, Aiyana Trina Archer, Asaun Raymond Carlo HarryPaul, Hayden Robert Redford, Noa Izaie Dumont, Zion Ari Wade, Amiyah Reign Watt, Aleah Cassidy Watt and Jasiah Amir Jackson; three sisters, Marcelle Estriplet, Dorothy Louis-Jeune and Betty Louis-Jeune; six nephews, Marcus Numa, Antonio Numa, Stephen Noelizaire, Daniel Noelizaire, Kyano Thevenin and Gabriel Thevenin; and many other cousins, relatives and friends.
"We’ll miss your contagious laughter and smile that was always welcoming. May you rest in peace, Renette. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hands!!"
