A writer once said, “Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.”
Today we are here to remind you of an angel named Ricardo with humble beginnings and beautiful memories.
Ricardo was born on July 30, 1990 to Sharline Davy & Julius Baker in Kingston, Jamaica. He grew up as loving, generous and helpful child. After enjoying town life, Ricardo later relocated to Wait-A-Bit in Trelawny and quickly adapted to the country lifestyle, comfortably. He then fell in love with farming, so he spent many of his young years on the farm with his uncle Jason and his cousins Myron and Nicky.
He loved to go ‘shirtless’ and when asked why, he would always answer, “This is the way we do it in Kingston” with a smile. Ricardo was an excellent soccer player! Even though he was younger than most of whom he played with, he taught them many new skills and tricks that he had acquired in Kingston. He also loved playing marbles. His unique way of firing it was pretty unorthodox, but it worked in his favor as no one else could ever master it as well as he did.
He was loved by everyone in the community who had the opportunity to be graced with his presence for several reasons; because of his jovialness, infectious laughter and his willingness to learn.
On February 11, 2005 at the age 14, Ricardo Baker and his family moved to Hartford, Connecticut to continue a new chapter in their lives. In Connecticut, he moved in with Aunty Marlene and attended East Hartford Middle School, where he later met the mother of his two beautiful daughters, Kanijeh and Kahzai Baker; whom he loved so much with all his heart. His daughters meant the world to him. His children gave him a different outlook on life and this attitude also motivated him to do better every single day of his life. That is what we all loved about Ricardo Montique Baker.
While our family grieves the loss of a wonderful son, brother, uncle, father and friend, we are most grateful to have had the chance to make many beautiful memories with Ricardo. This is what we will forever remember as we honor his name. Sleep on until such time, beloved Angel 👼🏽.
