

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Roosevelt was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Roosevelt and Ruby Blair on September 22, 1930. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Roosevelt enlisted in the United States Army and served his country faithfully until his retirement and honorable discharge on January 15, 1969 as Staff Sergeant E-6. During his time in the Army, he received many awards and certificates including a Certificate of Appreciation for Service in the Armed Forces of the United States and signed by President Richard Nixon.
His siblings were the late J. W. Blair, J. B. Blair, Elizabeth Douglas, James Blair, Matthew Blair, Marlon Blair, Gary Blair, Bessie Lou Gartrell, Ruby Mae Calloway, Mary France Thornton, Minnie Lee Blair, Teresa Blair and Cornelia Simmons. Along with siblings and his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Blair (Annette).
Roosevelt's life will forever be honored and cherished by his loving wife, Blaze Blair; children, Theodore Blair, Dianne Blair, James Blair (Deborah), Denise Blair-Sanders, Lakishea Willis (Marshall), Kenneth Ancrum (Jhonna Head) and Keith Ancrum (Marie); grandchildren, Perry Blair, Jomikka Blair, Shermon Sanders Jr. (Delysha), Kenya Sloan, Tamela Watkins, Nathaniel Porter, Ronnie Blair, Jr. and Courtney Burton; great-grandchildren, Taylor Blair, Trinity Yelverton, Shamia Sanders, Davyon Sanders, Kayla Sloan and Cameron Watkins; a host of other relatives and family friends.
It is with heavy hearts, but bountiful gratitude that Roosevelt Blair, Jr. has gone to be with our God. Although, we will miss him, we are overjoyed that he is eternally healed and look forward to the day when we will meet him again.
Visitation for Roosevelt will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A Celebration of Life will occur on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM in The Fairview Suite at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel. The Interment with Full Military Honors will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 2:30PM at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114.
