Russell Brady Patterson

Russell was born on March 10, 1951 to the late Grady and Helen Patterson in Atlanta, GA. He attended Roosevelt High School and then went to Fulton High School to be with the love of his life and wife of 49 years, Mrs. Genie Kay Patterson. Two sons were born to their union, Jay and Jeff Patterson. One of his greatest loves was coaching his boys and their friends in all sports. Russell served his community as a law enforcement officer with the Atlanta Police Department for 29 years before his retirement 2001. As an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, Russell enjoyed tailgating and watching games with his sons as well close friends. Also, in his spare time, he enjoyed vacationing, attending sporting events, and spending quality time with family. Countless memories have been created at Ideal Sports Bar and Russell will forever be remembered for the fun times he shared with so many people. He was well loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Grady A. and Mrs. Helen L. Patterson, Russell was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Pat Green. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Mrs. Genie Kay Patterson of Eatonton, GA; two sons, Jay Patterson of Atlanta, GA and Jeff Patterson of Atlanta, GA; along with a host of extended family and life-long friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Russell on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 4:00PM to 7:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, 376 Fairview Road Stockbridge, GA 30281. Visitation will continue Friday, January 15, 2021 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. Immediately following will be a graveside Celebration of Life ceremony held in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road Stockbridge, GA 30281.
