To a great guy, coworker, and friend; so long for a while. You will truly be missed. I learned much from you at Protection One and we had much fun. To the family I issue my condolences.

I had the pleasure of working with Rusty for many years.  He was genuinely a nice guy.  He did what he could to make the customers happy.  He helped teach me things when I was still green behind the ears.  He took the time to explain challenges to help me effectively communicate back to people who don't speak industry talk.

May you find peace that you have the best angel taking care of you during this time.  He will be greatly missed within "Protection 1/ADT".   

Remembering eating out together after Caleb's Regional Spelling B and so many other accomplishments of Caleb's where we have gathered together supporting our grandson  .....Our son Luke says he remembers seeing you at Turning Point  Church....May God continue to strengthen the Phillips family. 

Uncle Rusty always made me feel so welcomed in his home. When I was little I loved going to spend the night at their house. We would go to Blockbuster and he would let me pick out any movie I wanted. He always had a huge TV and he would make sure I had tons of snacks. He called me “Little Bonnie” and I am so sad I will never hear his voice again. His favorite story to tell of me is when I was little. He was pushing me in the buggy at the grocery store and I got mad and started screaming KIDNAPPER! He was so embarrassed! I am sorry I was a brat Uncle Rusty but you loved me anyway.  You also made my dad feel welcomed and he loved you. He is also sad during this time and sends his condolences to everyone.  However we know this has been a joyous week for you as you met Jesus and are in paradise! You will be missed by so many. I love you Uncle Rusty! I am definitely praying for Aunt Rhonda, Josh and Matt during this time.

You always knew everything daddy! NOTHING could hurt you and you taught me everything I know about being a good, kinda hearted Man and how to treat those you love in a manor that always puts them first. Thank you Daddy for being a Man of dignity and integrity and for teaching me the true meaning of love life and loyalty through your every day demonstration. Mom, Josh and my self always came first ALWAYS, thank you Daddy!!! I asked My self, how is it posible for Superman to die? In the comic books Superman always lives. This was the World I received from the Lord: To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I know you are with your Heavenly Father Daddy and that you will live forever!!! I also know it is your blood that flows through Caleb Josh and me and we are you and through us you live on. I will always love you my sweet daddy and I pray to be half the man you were!! And one more thing don't you worry about your princess because I promise you she will be well taken care of so you can go rest Daddy and we will be here carrying on the way you taught us to loving you always your baby boy

I have known Rusty for almost my entire life and he was never just my brother-in-law, he was my brother. From the first moment I met Rusty (rolling out the front door fighting with my middle sister Donna) to the three day Monopoly tournaments - we have always shared a special bond. I spent my early teens hanging out at Rhonda’s and Rusty’s house and I must say that during the summer I spent more time on their roll out sofa than I did at home.

Not only did we spend some of the best times together as we grew up over the past 4 decades - such as working side jobs painting houses – to sneaking a hotdog from the Great American Hot Dog House; but we have been with each other through tough times in our lives as well. We all grow up and experience joy and sadness and those memories and the times we shared will always be a part of me.

You were always the life of the party and I will never be able to hear Meat Loaf songs without tearing up. We had a great time singing Meat Loaf duets together at parties and I don’t need to sleep on it - “I will Love you forever!!” 

The biggest recollection I have of Rusty is the unwavering love that he had for my big sissy. He truly cherished her and she was treated like a princess (even if the crown in the old days was made out of aluminum foil). She was not just his high school sweetheart - she was his Priscilla! 

Your life was not nearly long enough and I am still in shock that you are gone from our world. But I know brother that I will see you again. God has another Angel and I know that we will be together singing together in Heaven.


Rusty, this is just all so unbelievable, but so were most things when it came to you! 

 I know that none of this was in Rusty’s plan, but I do truly believe that this was all in God’s plan. I pray that Rhonda, Josh, and Matt can find peace and comfort in the days ahead!  I will be here to do what ever I can for you guys. 

I have known Rusty for a little over 12 years now, the entire time we have worked together in one capacity or another. Not only was Rusty a great person to work for and work with, but he also quickly became a good friend and an important contributor to my life and my business.  It always seemed like that no matter what issues either of us faced we could always work together to find a solution.  Rusty and I talked almost every day not just about work but about life and all the stuff that goes along with that. I already miss our conversations terribly!  This past Sunday I not only lost a colleague but a best friend! Rusty you will be missed!

Rusty was gracious enough to hire my son, Josh, in his first full time job after college. Thanks to him for making a difference.

Have known Rusty since he was in High School and 1st came around to date my sister
In all those years we have lived together worker together and been friends even if not seeing each other often at times 
Once you see him again no time has past and you can talk about anything
He was there for me for the death of my father and i can say that he was a dam fine man
He never once waivered from his love of family and his prividing for them
He was  a fine example to his kids of what a man looks and acts like
He lived his life with Honor and those words from me are  hard earned

Aug.12 2018  my grandson Caleb  lost his Pop...from his dads side...unexpectantly..Although my daughter has been divorced many years Rusty and Rhonda Caleb's other grandparents have remained  friends with the bond of our grandson Caleb........Calebs dad Matthew and  his  Uncle Joshua lost a father a  hardworking provider and  his Nana .. Rhonda lost her husband a  constant companion  the glue for them but their Anchor is Jesus... PRAYERS and deep sadness for such a loss.  JESUS WILL CARRY YOU  THROUGH THIS AND YOU ALL WILL STAND...praying and trusting God will be with you all.  I know Rusty loved you all dearly and wants you to be strong. . We are deeply sorry for this sudden loss at only 55..of  James Rusty Phillips.

Rusty, I am going to miss you very much. I met your sons in middle school and we have been friends for over 20 years. Words do not begin to describe what you and the Phillips family mean to me. We are family and even though we no longer have you on earth we will always have you with us in spirit. Thank  you for being a positive in a world of negative (even if you had bizarre ways of doing it <3).

Rusty Phillips age 55 of Locust Grove, GA, beloved husband for over 37 years to Rhonda D. Phillips, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018.  

He also leaves to cherish his memory, sons; Joshua Phillips, Matthew Phillips, grandson, Caleb Phillips, his sister, Cindy Gante, nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
