

Ruth attended Bass High School, laying the foundation for a life filled with family, love, and community involvement. She was the cherished wife of Carl Roberts and the beloved daughter of Fred Mansfield and Rubye Johnson who later married Frank Butler. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy through her children: Joe Cox(Jonna), Karen Elleman(Michael), Diana Schmidt, Michael Cox, and Mark Roberts(Tim Hossain.) She is also survived by her grandchildren Logan Schmidt, Marlene Schmidt, Katherine Schmidt, Samantha Cox, Caschton Wilson, and Evan Schmidt. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Richard Cox her siblings Shirley Hardy and Jimmy Mansfield
Ruth had a passion for playing games, especially Phase 10 and Dominoes, where her competitive nature shone through. She enjoyed traveling and was fond of waterslides. Her generosity was evident in her love for giving gifts to those around her and serving others. Ruth also had a talent for decorating her home and found joy in watching Hallmark movies and loved to read.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Ruth had a firm belief in God and Jesus Christ, and she found solace in studying the Bible and participating in Bible study groups.
A visitation will be held from 12:30PM to 2PM followed by a service to honor Ruth's life on Friday, October 10th at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens, both located in Stockbridge, Georgia.
