Sandra Marsha Theresa Tull was born on July 16,1951, in Guyana to the late Clarence and Christina Tull. As the eldest of fourteen children, Sandra naturally embraced the role of a second mother, helping to nurture, guide, and care for her younger siblings. The love, responsibility, and strong family values she learned from her parents remained the foundation of her life.
Sandra attended St. Winifred Roman Catholic primary as a child and later continued her education at Queenstown Roman Catholic. At an early age, she possessed a warm spirit and genuine kindness that made her a nurturer. Her radiant smile, compassionate heart, and ability to see the best in others left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Sandra was a devoted wife to Pat Thorne and a loving mother to her two children, the late Eusi Tull and Suren Thorne. Upon her best friend passing, Linda Alexander, she became a mother to Lloyd Alexander, Abina Alexander, Neil Alexander, and the late Rawle Alexander.
Sandra was always quiet, but a great source of strength and fortitude. Family members and friends often relied on her to stand in the gap, offer wise counsel, and provide unconditional love and support.
She possessed excellent culinary skills, which allowed her to work in the food industry in Guyana. Her compassion for others, led to her providing care to neighbors and friends in their time of need. If you needed assistance, she would always be there, expecting nothing in return.
In 1992, Sandra joined her parents and siblings in the United States, where she began a new career as a Home Health Aide. Caring for others came naturally to her, and her compassion, patience, and gentle spirit made a lasting impact on the lives of her patients. Whether caring for family, friends, or those entrusted to her professionally, Sandra always gave selflessly and wholeheartedly.
Her life was a beautiful example of humility, faith, service, and unconditional love.
Sandra leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving daughter, Suren Thorne; her beloved children, Lloyd, Abina, and Neil Alexander; her devoted friend Joycelyn Layne; friend and caregiver, Eslyn Lambert, whose children, and grandchildren she shared: Candacy Lambert, Tiffany Lambert, Richmond Lambert, Bryce Myers, Marion Myers, Greysen Fields and her honorary daughters Carmetta Wallace and Daphne Madison.
Sandra is also survived by her loving siblings: Marsha Leigh (Aubry), Deanna Weekes (Alfred), Compton Tull (Colleen), Clarence Tull Jr., Clive Tull, Conrad Tull, Carl Tull (Sherry), Wayne Tull, Shawn Tull (Melanie), and Shane Tull (Kingsley), along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched in countless ways.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Eusi Tull and Rawle Alexander; her brother, Clement Tull; her fiancé, Robert Gathers (“Mr. B”); and her parents, Clarence and Christina Tull.
Sandra’s legacy of love, faith, compassion, and selfless service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her beautiful spirit and the countless lives she touched will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration.
We all loved Sandra (Sweetie), but God loved her best. Gone but never forgotten. Rest in power, Mom!!!
