Sara Bloodworth, 74, died March 22, 2021 after suffering a massive heart attack. Mrs. Bloodworth lost her husband almost a year before her death to COVID-19, and she herself battled and survived having contracted the COVID-19 virus.
Sara Bloodworth was an amazing person. She was kind, selfless, and loyal to not only those that she loved, but to everyone lucky enough to have known her. She was the glue that held her family and extended families together. As a teenager, Sara looked after her brothers and sister, and took on the role of mother and protector of her siblings. She continued to serve in that role for them throughout their lives.
During her lifetime, Sara worked as a waitress, an accounting clerk, a caregiver, but her most beloved occupations were being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother - those were the titles she wore most proudly. She loved music and had a beautiful singing voice though she was shy about singing in front of other people. She was a talented lyricist and had a passion for creating her own songs. Sara has written dozens of songs, one of which was recorded and aired on local radio.
Sara was meticulous about her home’s landscaping, her flowers, and her house was always organized and spotless. She was amazing in the kitchen, and her from-scratch, hand-rolled biscuits were legendary among her family and well beyond.
Mrs. Bloodworth is preceded in death by her loving husband: Joe (55 years), her father and mother: George and Margie Turpin, and her brothers Raymond, Roy, Allen, and Johnny Turpin.
Mrs. Bloodworth is survived by her sister: Kathleen Wilson, sister-in-law: Evelyn Bloodworth, sons: Donald (Diane), Greg (Candy), Danny (Tina); grandchildren: Josh (Aimee), Hannah, Conor, Dylan, Emma, Cale, Luke; great-grandchildren: Piper and Asher.
Due to the impact of COVID-19 on the Bloodworth family, the family has chosen to live stream a memorial service honoring both Joe and Sara on March 30, 2021. A link to view the service will be provided here.
