Shirley was born March 9th, 1943 in Atlanta, GA to the late William Hobert Roden and Irene Spain.
She was a vivacious child who was absolutely a daddy's girl. He nicknamed her John Henry. She grew up on a farm, hence her deep love of animals. She was one of the first women to work at GM on the assembly line. She was there 18 years and retired from GM in 1986.
Shirley loved to travel, especially to Panama City Beach, Florida. She loved country music, she loved to dance, and her favorite color was red; especially the one red rose. To her, a single red rose meant a deep simple love. She was fun loving, feisty, tenacious, a survivor, a dreamer and adventurous. She loved deeply, especially her husband, her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
She now joins her beloved siblings, Jimmy Roden, Barbara Walls and Thomas (Doc) Roden.
She is survived by her loving husband, Glenn L. Fitch. They shared 47 years of marriage.
She is also survived by her daughters and their families, Donna & Sam Mitchem, Danita Kidd, her children, John & Deborah Frost, their children and grandchildren; Her stepchildren and their families, Wade & Tammy Fitch, their children, and great grandchildren. Anthony & Dorothy Fitch, their children and grandchild. Angie Blackwood, her children and grandchildren.
Forever missed, Forever in our heart. We will always love you, more more...
