I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Shirley at the nursing home. Her room was across the hall from my grandmother’s. She was always so kind to everyone. I enjoyed watching her cruise around with other residents and talk and look at the birds. I always told her how beautiful she looked and how much I loved her hair. She always offered a sweet smile. She will be deeply missed. To the family and all who loved her, my family and I send our most sincere condolences. May God bless you all.
Rest easy Mrs. Shirley.

I’m grateful i got the opportunity to live with you and really get to know you. Being your great grandson. Always felt like you loved me to the moon and back. It hurts to see you go, but i know you are in a better place now and at peace. I remember being able to sit in your room with you and tell you my secrets. Grandma never told other people what we talked about and i cherished that. She was my rock someone i could vent to and i never felt like she judged me for the things i told her. I’m glad you’re at peace, and i know you’re going to always be with me watching out for me grandma. I love you

God tends to bring people into our lives when we need them the most. That was Shirley for me. We began as neighbors and somehow ended up as close as family. Shirley was there for me for some of my highest of highs and lowest of lows. I, in turn, tried to be a shoulder for her when she needed one. We even had a gate installed in our backyard fence so that we could get to each other faster.
I know that you are now in a place of peace without pain. I will continue to cherish the memories until we meet again.
All my love, friend!

I can't believe you are gone. I am glad you are not hurting anymore. I will keep your memory alive with my boys. Even though we have been unable to see you often over the last 15 years you were always there when we needed you. It bothered me most of the time that we had to talk on the phone every day but I am so glad we did and I wish I could talk to you today. I love you so much.

I’m so glad you are no longer in pain! Tell Poppy we said hi & tell him how amazing his great grandson’s are! I’ll forever think of you when I dig the knife in the butter instead of sliding it across the top! lol
Love you forever!♥️

Our family lived next to Shirley for 17 yrs. I spent many hours with Shirley as we raised our children and shared insights with one another.
Shirley was a true friend and our prayer for her family is comfort and peace during a very difficult time.

I really don't know what to say..We had our ups and downs, but in the end we loved each other very much. I'm glad you are at peace now, you've hurt for so long. Give dad a hug for me and I know I'll see you again.

I've had the privilege of knowing Shirley for over 35 years. I was her son in law but she always treated me like her son. For the last 12 years she lived with Sabrina and I minus 2 years of living in a nursing home. While in the nursing she would always say she wanted to come home. It was hard to tell her no but in the end she passed at home and that was a blessing for us all. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and she knew where she was going after this life. We had a lot of talks about God and talked about our differences in our beliefs. She was old school. Lol. She will be missed and never forgotten. But one thing I know without a shadow of dought I will see her again. Love Rick. Your favorite son in law
