I’ll never forget those times we would sit on the front porch in the early mornings to watch and hear the birds chirping. It’s the little things in life that we should cherish the most. There will always be a place for you in my heart. I love you and sure will miss you.

Your granddaughter,
Savannah

My birth mother, Louise (Troy's younger sister) was a victim of a violent crime in January of 1968. Troy did not hesitate to adopt me. That day he became my DAD! He is the only dad and father I have ever known and as it turns out the only one I ever needed. I am privileged to have known such an honorable man. He loved his family and did everything to teach us right from wrong and guide us into adulthood. He raised 7 children and was married to his wife for almost 60 years . I had the opportunity to grow up in a loving family that I may not otherwise have had. Thank you Dad for being there for me when I needed you most. I love you and will miss you terribly.

Your loving daughter,
Angie

My beloved uncle,
I will never forget and often think about the times I was able to visit and stay with you and aunt Charlotte as a child. Aunt Charlotte made THE BEST pancakes and sitting around your table at meal times ( alllll of us! Lol) with hands held together, is where I first learned "The Lord's Prayer". When I think of those days with you uncle, I can still feel the love and joy when you would look down at me smiling speaking to me in German. And I excited and smiling back up at you as I jumped up and down saying ,"What did you say? What did you say?" awaiting for your answer. Then, you would tell me " Sweet , beautiful child.". Or you would say " How are you doing?" Or "I love you."
Today my precious uncle I want to say to you-
Mein geliebter Onkel,
ich liebe dich und werde dich vermissen. mein schoner Onkel.
Immer lieben,. Dora

Troy, I will never forget the time you told me you had something for me that you wanted me to try. And I said sure what is it, And with that awesome smile of yours you started kinda laughing and I didn't know what was going on until you pull out that little yellow orange pepper. So I said oh that ain't nothing and we both began to really laugh. So you gave it to me and I ate it and then my whole world change because I couldn't breathe my eyes were water and I was choking and begging for something to help the hotness to go away, and then I think me and you were both crying one for laughter and the other for something to cool my insides off but we neither one could quit laughing . And then for next three days every time I used the restroom I cried with laughter and thought of me and you laughing so hard. And there are no words to tell you how much I will miss you and love you for the person and the most awesome fathering law anyone could ask for. God bless and rest in peace, Love you Jesse Funderburk Jr.
