Virgil Chad Sullivan, age 81, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, treasured stories, and a legacy of love that will live on through generations.
Born on November 23, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia, Virgil was a hardworking man whose life was shaped by determination, perseverance, and an independent spirit. He spent much of his life as a truck driver, traveling countless miles and collecting experiences that would become stories he loved sharing with family and friends.
Virgil was a man of strong character who lived life on his own terms. He had a mind of his own, a sense of humor that could bring unexpected laughter, and a love for storytelling. He enjoyed reminiscing about days gone by, sharing memories of his travels, and passing along the wisdom he had gained throughout his life.
Though he could be set in his ways, Virgil had a heart that loved deeply. He may not always have expressed his feelings in words, but his family knew the love he carried for them. Like the life he lived, his love was uniquely his own, and it will remain a cherished part of his family’s memories.
Virgil leaves to cherish his memory his children, Natalie Sullivan, Joanne Gaddis, and Krystal Dorminy; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; his special cousin, Henry Hester; and his dear friend, Charlie Skinner, whose friendship began in childhood and grew into a lifelong bond of brotherhood. He also leaves behind other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Sullivan; his son, Chad Sullivan; his parents Lena and Charles Sullivan and several siblings.
As his family remembers Virgil, they will hold close the sound of his voice, the stories he loved to tell, the lessons he shared, and the moments that made him unforgettable. While his journey on earth has come to an end, the love he leaves behind will continue to connect the generations of his family..
