Bill is survived by his wife of seventy-three years, Dorothy Jean Ingram; his children, Joyce (Bob) Dison of Cumming Ga., preceded in death by Wayne Ingram, Randy (Bonnie) Ingram of Dawsonville Ga., Scott (Christie) Ingram of Cincinnati Ohio; four sisters, Mary Kinsey, Shirley Brown, Elsie Corley, Norma Myers; five grandchildren, Robbie (Kim) Floyd, Sandi (Ken) Evers, Matthew (Jamie) Ingram, Lillian Ingram and Josh (Cortney) Ingram. Bill also had seven great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
As the oldest of nine from modest means, Bill was a devout Christian who valued Faith and Family above all else. Serving in the Navy after WWII, he returned home to help with family, and before long, met the love of his life Jean. From the moment he married Jean they embarked on a love story that lasted more than seventy-three years. These years were filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Bill loved to travel and had the ability to build a car from the ground up. He and Jean loved to travel with family and show off his handy work on his beautiful cars. Bill was a “jack” of all trades and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t build or fix but he also loved to be outside in his yard “piddling” around. He set the best example of how to love God and family for all his children. He was proud of the strong people his daughter and sons became; they were his greatest legacy.
More than once recently, Bill said he would be going to heaven soon but he would be standing at the gate waiting for his beloved wife Jean when it was her time….he wanted to be the first loved one she saw.
