Bill was born August 29, 1937. He was raised in College Park, Georgia and served in the United States Army. Bill and his wife Jeanette and their children moved to Stockbridge, Georgia in the early 1970s where he was well known and had many friends. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 613 in Atlanta for 45 years. He worked as an electrician and served as an officer in the Local 613.
Bill was a Past Master of Masonic Lodge 691 in Stockbridge, Georgia. He believed in working hard and using good common sense. He loved his wife, family and friends and could be counted on in times of need. He loved all sports and was a huge Georgia Tech fan. Bill also enjoyed coaching youth baseball. Additionally, he enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, shooting pool, and being outdoors. He had a tremendous love for all of his pets and they were his loving companions. Bill also attended Connecting Point Church in McDonough, Georgia.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carol Jeanette Medlock; mother, Mattie Lou Clark; father, James Duren Medlock; sister, Mary Faye Biggers; brothers, Jimmy Estes Medlock and Ernest Eugene Medlock; parents-in-law, James and Grace Wheeler; and step-in-laws, George and June Rape’.
He is survived by two children, William David Medlock (Kim) and Donna Veal (Mark); grandchildren, Lindsay Medlock and Jennifer DeRoche (Buddy); great grandchildren, Lucas and Hunter DeRoche; niece, Linda Crook (Harry); a very special friend, Diane Collum; and many other nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A visitation of family and friends will be held for Bill on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of his life will immediately follow in Ward's Chapel. Services will conclude with Masonic rites and a graveside committal service at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
