Ana was a devoted person to her faith, church, and community. A mother of eight children and a beloved grandmother to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiep and Tinh, and youngest daughter, Khanh. She is survived by her husband, Nhan, of 48 years; seven children including Sandy, Debra, Hanh, Duc, Trina, John, and Tony; and two grandsons Andrew and Michael.
Ana was born on March 14, 1959, in Vietnam. She emigrated to the United States of America in 1975. She met and married her husband in Oklahoma the following year. They were the first Vietnamese couple to be married in the State of Oklahoma and made the local newspaper. They moved to Louisiana shortly thereafter and settled in California in the mid-1980s, where they remain. She was a homemaker for 45 years and was a master seamstress. Her hobbies were participating in church activities and functions and traveling to visit extended families.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 2 pm to 6 pm at DeYoung Memorial Chapel on N. California Street in Stockton, California. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 11 am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church followed by interment at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery with Father Hung officiating. Please remember to bring your umbrellas, sun hats, and hand fans. Reception will follow burial at Mary Help of Christian Centers.
