Andres Saul España Canseco

Born in Oaxaca, Mexico to Felix and Francisca Esperanza Espana, Saul was one of 12 children. Of those 12, he leaves behind five siblings (two sisters and three brothers). Prior to retiring, Saul worked as a police officer in Mexico, a baker and spent several years working as a laborer in Salinas, CA. When asked, most would say that persistence was one of his personal traits.

Saul leaves behind four children: Andres, Fabiola, Liz, and Yanira. In addition to his four children he leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 09 great-grandchildren. Some of his favorite things to do were: attending church, singing, eating birria de chivo, and he loved watching telenovelas. You could catch him eating at either Denny's, Olivia's or Gutierrez’s. Rumor has it that he could play and school someone at a mean hand of cards too!

Here’s how Saul will be remembered: after no longer being able to drive his Chevrolet Caprice, you could spot him walking quickly everywhere throughout Salinas, CA. And, yes, never leaving home without wearing a baseball cap of some sort and on a quest to attend the next festival that was happening.

A visitation will be held at De Young Memorial Chapel, 601 N CALIFORNIA ST, STOCKTON, CA 95202, US, on July 24, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
