Anthony was born to a loving family of Italian immigrants in Martinez, CA and he grew up in Port Chicago, CA. He lived there until 1941. He was a natural athlete as well as a scholar and played baseball for the University of California Berkeley, which is also where he received his Master’s in Geology. He then went on to be a Catcher for the Seattle Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League. He volunteered for the Army at the outbreak of WWII and was stationed in Hawaii. He was the transferred to Stockton airfield where he met the love of his life Dorothy. They were married for 65 wonderful years, traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe while making Stockton their home. Anthony was a charter member at St. Luke’s Catholic Church and volunteered for many services. Many thanks to Dr. Ashtok Daftry who kept Anthony healthy for many years. Anthony leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends, as he will be sorely missed.
