Arthur passed away on December 1, 2021 at the age of 66.
Arthur is survived by his children, Tanya Lagrimas, Melanie Lagrimas Esguerra and Jennifer Lagrimas; siblings, Darlene Montes, Delmar Lagrimas, Jr., Sharon Hall and Jimmy Lagrimas; Grandchildren, Eric Espinoza, Makaila Lagrimas, Maya Weldon-Lagrimas, Xavier Lagrimas, Kalani Esguerra and Isaac Lagrimas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delmar Lagrimas, Sr., and Clarice Yuk Ngun Lagrimas.
Arthur was born on May 27, 1955 in Stockton, CA to Delmar Lagrimas, Sr., and Clarice Y. N. Lagrimas. He graduated from Edison High School in 1973, where he began learning his craft of carpentry. At the age of 17, he began his career at the Union Planing Mill where he worked for 33 years. During that time, he became a Master Carpenter and Craftsman. He was a proud union member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 2236, since 1973.
Between 1974 and 1982, Arthur welcomed three children into his life and over the years he taught them many important life skills related to woodworking, construction, mechanics, and home repairs. He can fix or build anything, and he always shared his talent and knowledge. Among many beautiful qualities, his children remember him as hardworking, loving and generous. His six grandchildren adore their Papa and he was so proud of every one of them.
Arthur was a Master Carpenter and Craftsman and his artistry lives on in his many creations, both locally and across the country. He was a man of integrity with high standards and great strength. Arthur was an avid and skilled fisherman who loved fishing with his family and friends.
A visitation and rosary will be held for Arty on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 from 4-8 pm. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, January 6th , 2022 at 10am. The rosary and funeral service will both take place at the DeYoung Shoreline Chapel. The committal will take place on Thursday, January 6th , 2022 at 12 pm at the San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place immediately following Thursday’s services.
