Through the years she raised 3 children, Ricky (Pat), Kelly (Gilbert), and Stephanie; 7 grandchildren Ricky Jr., Vanessa, Nicole, Natalie, Stephen, Amy, and Matthew; 9 great grandchildren Jossalynn, Megan, Issabella, Caden, Ezekiel, Augustin, Evander, Asher, and Trinidad.
Betty is survived by brother David Ayson and sisters Carol Barney, Donna Olivas, Joyce Tracy, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Dick, parents Urbano M. Ayson and Amy Relon, sister Barbara Carrington, brothers Robert Orani and Leonard Ayson.
Through the years Betty managed and later owned Manny's Drive-In, "The Original Manny's", a Southside fixture for many years. Often referred to as "The Soul of the Southside". If you grew up on the Southside then you knew Betty. If you were a regular at Manny's, then she knew your order and often knew your family. Nothing then nor now compares to the original Manny's sauce.
Ever keeping Manny's going, it was mentioned Manny's was one of few if not the only food business open during the California power outage in 2000. Betty doing the orders and Dick running the generator while taking orders all over Stockton! It may have been dark but the food was fresh and delicious as ever. One memory of several recently shared.
During Betty's time, she was an avid sponsor of various community activities and athletic organizations such as Southside Vikings, Southern Little League, and the Cal-Mex League. As husband Dick was, she too was a proud Filipino American, whose family worked agricultural fields, she supported the Filipino American Historical Society (FANHS) and the Filipino basketball teams, both husband and son Ricky played, from the 1950's through the 1980's the Stockton Eagles and the Karamonte Vinta.
She will be remembered by many for her kind gestures with a tough approach, a surrogate mom to many who watched generations grow up.
Once retired she and husband Dick would RV with the grandkids and with other families camping, fishing, and hosting numerous BBQs. Often attending grandkids sports events. Recent years Betty helped care for her grandkids and great grandkids.
The Teczon family would like to graciously thank the staff of the St. Joseph's CICU for the great care and compassion given.
A public Viewing and Chapel Service to be held Saturday, February 1st, DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St, Stockton, at 10 am followed at 1 pm with a Graveside Service at the Parkview Cemetery, 3661 French Camp Rd, Manteca. Although Betty will be missed, we find comfort knowing she is now with the love of her life, husband Dick. Rest in Peace.
