Beverly Jean Hanley passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 12, 2018 at the age of 91 after a 9 year battle with Alzheimer's. She was born to Aemile and Louise Bona on January 8, 1927 in Volcano, CA. Bev met her husband Jim on a blind date and married in 1947. After moving to Stockton, Bev went to work for San Joaquin Title Insurance and was active in organizations like 20/30 Club, Haute Couture, and many others. She was a duplicate bridge player for years. Jim and Bev traveled the world with many friends and family, were avid boaters, and members of Stockton Yacht Club for 50+ years. Bev had a quality about her that when she entered a room, the place just lit up. Bev was preceded in death by her husband James E. Hanley and survived by brother Marvin A. Richards of Oakdale; son James R. Hanley (Kathy) of Stockton, CA; daughter Marcy L. Hanley of Novato, CA; and two grandchildren James E. Hanley II and Lauren K. Hanley, Melissa Goodman (step granddaughter). Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Somerford Place and Meadowood for the care she received throughout her last decade of life. They were nothing short of amazing. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Stockton Yacht Club, 3235 River Drive, Stockton. Family and close friends who wish to attend are invited to a small service at DeYoungs Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton starting at 9 am on the 22nd followed by a private burial service at Sutter Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to St. Mary's Dining Room, 545 W Sonora St., Stockton, CA 95203 or to Haggin Museum, 1201 N Pershing Ave, Stockton, CA 95203.
