Auntie Fannie was there when you came home from the hospital on March 15, 1975. At 2 days old you were so beautiful, smart, and a perfect little lady. Your mom and dad were so proud of you and very happy, smiling all the time. Your big brother Marvin was the happiest of all. You were the cutest little thing he had ever seen, and you were staying with him. I was equally thrilled with our cute little bundle of joy as was cousin Cherise, grandma Jerl, Auntie Gloria, and Uncle Jeffrey. When your younger brothers William and Mark were born, you were such a loving and caring big sister until God called you home. Carmen loved Doug Sr, Doug Jr, Marvin, William, Mark, Grandma and Grandpa Brim (Jerlene and Lovie), and all her aunts and uncles with all her heart. Another special person in Carmen’s life was her pastor and family friend, the late great reverend Herbert Guice, former pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Oakland, California. Everyone that knew Carmen will miss her beautiful smile and caring heart. Well, Carmen, our hearts are broken. We all love you and will miss you, but you leave behind an amazing legacy: your beautiful smile that could light up a room, a loyal conscientious work ethic, and your deep love for your family and friends. Your enduring memory will live on in our hearts. So I guess until that huge family reunion with the master, may you rest in heavenly peace, my beautiful niece Carmen!
