Charlene Harris, a beloved mother, mother‑in‑law, daughter, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and sister, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Her life was defined by devotion, hard work, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her.
Charlene is survived by her three sons — Guy Allen Harris, Thomas Glenn Harris, and Michael DeWayne Harris — who were the pride of her life. She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Samantha Derrick, Thomas Dominic Harris, Matthew Harris, Michael Edward Harris, Olivia Harris, and Cassie Harris, and 6 great-grandchildren, Ava-Marie Derrick, Anthony Derrick, Jr., Dustin Harris, Avery Harris, Maverick Harris, and Madeline Harris, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her daughters‑in‑laws, Christina Harris and Kelly Harris of over 40 years, who loved her dearly and were considered part of her family in every way.
In her early years, Charlene found joy in spending time with her family and her late husband, Guy B. Harris. Together, they created lasting memories on their annual camping and hunting trips, traditions filled with laughter, adventure, and togetherness. Charlene also treasured the time she spent visiting her late mother, Ruth Harris, and her late brother, William Hughes, of Olivehurst, California. The Harris family loved their German Shorthair Pointers and always brought one or more along on their annual hunting trips. June, Scotty, Kilo, Lobo, Clamper, and Nicky were all cherished members of the family.
Charlene started working in agriculture, picking fruit and worked in many canneries. Later in her life she also worked for many years in the retail industry, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. After retiring in 2002, she continued to pour her energy into caring for her home and family. She was never afraid of hard work — mowing the lawn, tending her garden, and keeping everything in perfect order. Being outdoors brought her peace, and she developed a special bond with a stray cat who quickly became her loyal companion.
Those who knew Charlene will remember her as the most organized person they ever met — someone who always looked out for the needs and interests of others before her own. Her kindness, steadiness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever carried in the hearts of her family.
Charlene’s legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the traditions she built, and the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit.
