Cheryl Dean Simas, born 10/04/46, moved on 3/10/24 with loved ones at her side and her hand holding her son’s, as she had so many times before. She is survived by her sons Dave Jr and Danny Simas, her daughter-in law Heather Simas, her grandchildren Davie & Melissa Simas, Cameron Renwick and her four great-grandchildren.
Cheryl lived a life complex yet simple. She lived in such places as Stigler to Las Vegas, McFarland to Burbank, but called Stockton home. She took part in such amazing projects as the Paris Casino Las Vegas to the Disney California Adventure but also took pride in a family painting company. She loved to compete, be it softball, bowling, cards, word games or just banter of wit.
She loved to put on a spread for everyone on family holidays but could be happy with just you and her at lunch. She visited Europe but was delighted to just go to Santa Cruz. She gambled in Monte Carlo but was satisfied playing blackjack at a $2 table downtown Vegas. She went to a Super Bowl but was proud being a team mom for her son’s basketball team, which she only missed one game ever.
In all she did in her life, there was nothing more important to her than being a mother. Be it mom, grandma, “moms”, that was who she was. She was not just a mom to her son, but also to all his friends and not just in his childhood but even in his adulthood, and all of her “sons” will miss her biscuit and gravy.
In a world where everyone cares about themselves first, she didn’t.
Her memorial service will be held April 13th at Frisbie Warren & Carroll Mortuary Stockton Ca at 11 a.m. for those who wish to attend.
