Chiara P. Bianchi

Our beloved Mom and Nonna immigrated to the U.S. From Nonantola, Italy in 1948. She arrived in Des Moines, Iowa where she married our Dad, Robert Bianchi. They later settled in Stockton, California where they created their Italian American family: Tom Bianchi and Virginia Poggi, of Stockton, Liz Isono from Berkeley Ca., and Paul Bianchi of Auburn, Ca. Chiara is survived by the loves of her life, her ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She always held her Italian family close to her heart by many letters, phone calls, and visits to Italy. Her family in Italy includes one surviving brother, Augusto(Nini) and two surviving sisters, Maria, and Vita, all of Nonantola Italy. Here in Stockton Chiara centered her spiritual and family life around St. Bernadette's church, where she was an active member. Mom was a brilliant seamstress, and shared her art and love of sewing by making clothes for her family, reupholstering car interiors and furnishings. She loved her work at Knobby and Drapers and Damons for over 30 years. We will miss our Mom terribly, but her strength of Spirit will always be with us. Services will be as follows: Rosary St.Bernadette’s Catholic Church 2455 Country Club Blvd. Stockton CA on Thursday January 19th 6pm. Mass will be held at St. Bernadette’s on Friday January 20th at 10am.
