Dearest Grandpa,

Losing you is the greatest lost to our family. As the oldest of all your grandkids I had the privilege to enjoy your love early on and was so spoiled by you. I won’t forget the stories you told me about how your life was in VN and all the sacrifices you made for your family to make it to America so your kids can have a better life after the war. I will continue to carry on all you’ve taught me and will never let my son Noah forget you. And as promised to you before you passed that we will take care of grandma and stay close with our tight family. You may be gone but left a great legacy in every single one of your grandkids. We will miss your laugh, your lectures, your voice and your sweet kind smile. I love you so much and may you now RIP and be eased of pain. ❤️🙏🏼
Love,
Your eldest Granddaughter Tuyet

Words cannot convey how I feel right now. Nor can I express it properly. I love you so much and will miss you dearly. Thank you for always being there for me. We have our differences and sometime I may get mad at you. But you always manage to reach out and make me laugh or smile. I will always cherish our adventures. Even the small ones like going to multiple magnet stores in San Francisco just so you can get a nice one on the fridge or finding a particular cough drop in Chinatown when they're all the same ginger candy drops. I love your creativity. you can turn the most simplest item to something grand and/or fun. I will miss your laughs and words of wisdom. Rest in peace grandpa. Don't worry we will all be ok and will take good care of grandma. I love you.

We had a wonderful grandfather,
One who never really grew old;
His smile was made of sunshine,
And his heart was solid gold;
His eyes were as bright as shining stars,
And in his cheeks fair roses you see.
We had a wonderful grandfather,
And that’s the way it will always be.
But take heed, because
He’s still keeping an eye on all of us,
So let’s make sure
He will like what he sees.
