Consuelo Ridon was born on September 12, 1939 in San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and was the oldest of 10 children born to Pablo and Soledad Ridon. Upon graduating as a valedictorian from St. Paul College, she entered into the teaching profession. Alongside her first husband, Rupert Rialubin, she immigrated to the United States in 1976 and has called Stockton her home since then.
In 1983, she began working for Stockton Unified School District at John Adams Elementary. This began a long career that spanned 38 years and served hundreds of students as Ms. Connie and Ms. Yadao, serving the El Dorado, Pulliam, Montezuma, and Taylor Leadership Academy communities, and retired from SUSD in 2021. Connie also worked at Diamond Walnut as a seasonal worker for several years throughout the late 90s well into the 2000s.
She was active in the Filipino community, namely as a Life Member of the Legionarios Del Trabajo in America, and held an active role as the Treasurer of the Worshipful North Star Lodge #144 up until her illness. She also served as Treasurer for the United Family Circle, Car Car Brotherhood, and in her lifetime, was affiliated with the Association of Filipino American Educators and the Senior Citizens' Group.
In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her plants, going on the occasional casino trip to Thunder Valley, and most of all, she loved her sports. She was a proud and vocal 49er Faithful, and also loudly cheered on her Oakland Athletics, her San Francisco Giants, and her Sacramento Kings. Most recently, she also began cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs - especially Patrick Mahomes. Sundays and gamedays at the house were always so full of joy, food, and cheers.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, David; her daughters Joy, Fortune, and Cherish; sons-in-law David and Mario; and her grandchildren, Adia, Lhiane, Leylah, Jessica, and Davina. She is also survived by her siblings Pacita, Warlito (Agustina), Nestor (Jean), Agnes (Clarito), and Veronica (Rolando), and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by an extensive extended family network. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Soledad Ridon; her siblings Remedios, Susana, Loreto, and Armando; and her first husband, Rupert Rialubin.
