From a young age, he was active and curious—playing sports, and often going hunting and fishing with his dad.
For 30 years, Curtis was a self-employed heating and air conditioning technician. He was known for his hands-on skill, always working on projects, fixing things, and enjoying the challenge of taking things apart and putting them back together. He had a natural talent for mechanical work and a deep love for problem-solving.
Curtis was also a loyal football fan, never missing a chance to root for the Raiders. He was known by those who loved him for his unique laugh and unforgettable smile—both of which brought warmth to any room he entered.
Curtis is survived by his mother, Esther Tankersley. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Tankersley, and his brother, Billy R. Tankersley. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Frank and Carmen Guerrero, Joe and Vivian Velasquez, and Mary Velasquez. He was preceded in death by his aunts Margaret Velasquez and Rosie Fox.
He leaves behind a legacy of work, loyalty, and a quiet, genuine spirit. Curtis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
