Debra Kay Bravo 10/19/1955 - 7/16/2016 On 10/19/1955 a beautiful baby girl was born to Jimmie and Shirley Bravo, which they named Debra Kay Bravo. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and brother Larry. She is survived by the loves of her life, Husband Chris Caston, daughter Vinessa Mitchell, Step son Christopher Caston and her grandson Kamren Joiner. She is also survived by her siblings: Sandra Cartner, Shirley Petersen, Jody Shelton, Jim Bravo (Kathi) and Don Bravo(Julie) and her adored nieces and nephews. Debbie, a native of Stockton, CA, attended Franklin High but had the itch to travel. she thrived on adventure and excitement and lived an enthralling life. She was one of those brave souls who had hitch hiked up and down the coast and eventually calling Long Beach, CA. her home. She worked for the City of Long Beach, where she retired with over 20+ years of service. She was often heard saying “the hippy in me is ready for retirement” and to move on to the next adventure in life. Debbie never had a shoulda, coulda, woulda attitude. She traveled each and every highway of life her way as she followed her dreams not the rule. Deb had a sense of style and a love of shoes, especially those platform heels, ones that were shaped like bowling balls and the acrylic shoes in the form of a fish. Deb was a very talented artist who had a passion for painting, writing short stories, and taking on any challenge that was laid in front of her. Her fun loving & carefree nature was infectious and she could always make you laugh. Which was probably why she was every ones favorite cool Aunt. Debbie had a special way of making each and every person feel like the most important person in her life. When she would have a conversation with you she would listen intensely and would make you feel that what you were saying was the most fascinating thing she had ever heard. However, first and foremost was the quality time she spent with her grandson Kamren. One of her “favorite” things to do is what he wanted to do and most times this was spent at Disneyland. They went so often that Mickey and the gang knew them by name. As her life journey ends, she has come home.
